Primary aldosteronism is characterized by inappropriate overproduction of the adrenal mineralocorticoid aldosterone resulting in high blood pressure, electrolyte disturbances and high cardiovascular morbidity. Using high throughput (HT) functional assays, namely HT intracellular Ca2+ imaging and HT automated patch clamp, we aim at contributing novel therapeutic approaches to treat primary aldosteronism.
